What do you have your 8th graders doing?
I don't know if it's knowing that we're so quickly approaching high school, our recent move to another state or what, but I'm just feeling really off kilter this year.
Can we talk 8th grade? Please??

At a local co-op she is taking Apologia Physical Science, Writing Class, Digital Photography, and Safefy/First Aid.
I hope this helps, I am no expert, I just keep marching through this homeschooling adventure and hope I cover what they need.
Here's what we did for 8th grade:
- Finished up Learning Adventures (1 semester)
- Did one semester of ISP (Independent Study Projects), one per month
- TT Pre-Algebra
- Apologia General Science (through a co-op-type thing)
- English/grammar (last year of Rod & Staff)
- P.E., once a week
- Artist/Composer study, once a week
- Bible/catechism memory work
- Baseball this spring
That's not too many electives. He doesn't do music, and he's beginning foreign language this year in 9th. I used 8th grade more to get him working independently as much as possible (hence the ISPs). Also, it was time for a last fling with unit studies as a whole family (hence Learning Adventures).

Brenna just finished 8th grade. Her "electives" were French and Logic. She also competed in speech and debate.
She also did:
Bible (The Ministry of Christ from CLP)
English (she took this through The Potter's School)
Chalkdust Pre-Algebra (I know lots of kids take Algebra 1 in 8th but she's not really a math kid)
The Rainbow Science (2nd year)
History (she used Volumes 3 and 4 of SOTW that we were beefing up for a history overview before high school)
And, now....I'm planning out her 9th grade year.![]()
