I ran across this site when doing some research last week. It's a site for creating very cool presentations with very little work.

I showed it to my daughter who created this one very quickly. She showed my 11yo son how to do it, and he had lots of fun making a presentation about himself (basically telling all the ways in which he was "cool").

I think this little tool would be great for putting together little reports and such while also teaching a little computer skill (though very little skill is required).

It's FREE! And apparently quite user-friendly. I haven't actually used it yet, but my kids figured it out with no problem and no help from me.
