    Default Sunday DECLUTTERING!

Today's Challenge: Floors and Flat Surfaces...got any placed that need tidying. Take a moment today to pick things up on your way by!

School Challenge: Prepare for a new week of school.

Inspiring Thought: Today is Ezra Jack Keats birthday! It might be too warm to check out The Snowy Day, but how about another book to remember this author/illustrator? (I use the book Literature for Lively Lessons to make these connections and find out what's fun to include in our days)

    For me today:
    • breakfast and church on time- did everyone set their clocks ahead? I'm looking forward to more light in the evenings!
    • prepare for math co-op class tomorrow- I have an interesting mix of students and I need to spend some more time preparing and designing the classes.
    • prepare for school at our house this week- both in planning and prep for those things to happen
    • dust a few places
    • make sure bathroom gets wiped down again
    • take a walk- should be almost 60 today which is balmy and wonderful!
    • laundry- I have to keep it humming so the pile doesn't get huge during house showing days
    • library shelf- set out new things on the library shelf
    • order up books from the library- math books and some books for Duchess. I'm hoping for something on catapults. I have something, but something more would be good.

I sure am hoping that someone will call to see the house. It's hard not to be nervous when we aren't having anyone see the place. Today would be a great day to see houses. So, let's pray we get some traffic!

I hope you all have a fun day ahead!

Well yes and no. There is an open house for the realtors so they can all go and see the new places up for sale. That should be coming right up- they do them every other week I think she said.

As for an open house just us and for folks- no there isn't one planned. Very few people buy houses from open house experiences and it's just a way nosy neighbors can check out your house. That is according to our realtor and things we've read.

I am hopeful that with the house buying season kicking into gear that we will see some increased action.

Hi Cindy! Looks like it's you and I today.

    • church and breakfast on time
    • Target- to pick up vitamins
    • started laundry
    • dusted all over- easy to do when there's no clutter and it's not been more than a day or two since you've dusted. Words to live by girls!
    • carpet cleaning- Dan did the steps down just now and is working on the furniture in the living room now. Did I tell you we found the cap? It was in another part of the cleaner We found out when the girl who had the part brought it over and Dan was putting the machine together and found it. Oh my. At least the carpets look beautiful!
    • copied Arabic units for E13 who is catching up on his Arabic lessons. Co-op class he's in. I'll be blogging about it today.
    • folded one load of laundry
    • did some blog reading that gave me a few ideas...

B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l day today and the weather looks like we'll have more of them this week. Just when my mind is free to do school and spend focused time with the kids the weather blows it OUT and it will be hard to concentrate! No big thing...we'll simply go outside for school. It's the mud season so yard play is not advised- if you like your yard to have grass.

Next up I will take a few blogging pictures and work on my math co-op class I think. Later on someone will be taking the kids to the playground.

heather - only one family looked at our house in alaska in a 3-month period!
and they ended up buying it!
    (although not right away)

    house-sellling is a funny thing
nothing you can expect from one time to the other

our realtor said the same thing about open houses so we didn't have one
but when we were in anchorage last fall, the new realtor was having an open house
(that's how we got to go inside and see it)
    it just recently sold again

yuck - i hate the time change!
(how can one hour make such a difference?)
last weekend we had a one-hour time change back and forth when we went to boise
we should have timed that trip for this weekend instead

Thanks for the encouragement. It's only been on the market a week and we had someone come through it the same day we listed. So that part is good.

It only takes one buyer to love this house. I would just like to increase our odds of finding that person is all!

Other than checking with the realtor to make sure all is well, we've done all we can do. The house is ready. It's time to sit back and rest in the fact that it'll happen.

That part is hard though! Especially when you have a house that you love and want to move into so you have to sell in a finite amount of time! Ack!
