I'm curious, what kind of hot breakfasts do you make in the oven? All I can think of is coffee cake...

Good morning! It is another BEAUTIFUL day here in southeastern PA ~ it's supposed to hit near 80 this afternoon ! It's a mellow day here. DH, DD7 & DS11 left on their adventures at 7:00 am and won't be back until about 2 hours after dark. DD17 is at school and most likely headed straight to work afterwards. DD15 is actually doing her schoolwork. And so far I've managed to stumble around a bit (after having DD7 crawl into bed with me around 2:00 am complaining of tummy issues) and get a perm; I'm heading out to lunch with a friend shortly then will be home to tackle a few projects before DD15's softball game at 4:00 pm!

    On my list:
    • Tidy up the kitchen (only going to get worse when DD15 makes cookies for the team)
    • Downstairs tidy
    • Finish laundry
    • School logs

And that's about it. I really, really need to find balance. Monday was NUTS . Tuesday wasn't much better. If I could learn to spread things out a bit life would be so much calmer .

    Bacon!!

I put a cooling rack on a cookie tin and fill it with bacon slices. Then I put it in a cold oven and turn on to 425. 15 minutes BACON

    Alton Brown tip.

Oh, that does sound fantastic! How could I have missed this, Alton Brown is my favourite food guy, I own all three volumes of good eats. Mmmm, I need some bacon!

We ran out to the library to pick up some Jim Weiss cds that had come in for us, also to the hardware store to buy some soil and then to the grocery store to buy what we needed to make rice crispy bird nest treats.

This afternoon I will make the treats with the kids and then have some quiet time while they enjoy one of our new cds. It's shaping up to be a great friday!

Wait... I didn't realize the skirt itself was actually musical!! I had to go back and look at that again.

And Breakfast? I don't think I've ever made a hot breakfast for the entire family.... ever. I don't like to eat until a few hours after I get up, and the girls don't usually eat either. The boys like to have something to drink mainly, and will then eat something a few hours later too. haha.... maybe I inadvertently trained them that way.

I Brunch though.............MMMMmmmmmmm. Love a good brunch buffet
