to all those who are caretakers of a spouse. It's not something we thought of when we said "I do".

My dh and I have been married for 20 years. Over those years we have had many health issues and problems that have occurred. It has been difficult to be the one who is always taking care of everyone. Through much of our earlier illness, we were by ourselves and I took care of everything. Now God has surrounded us with a wonderful support group and I am slowly learning to accept help from others.

The sermon on Sunday was from Heb. 12. ..."Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us..." A marathon is a very long race and my hat is off to all of you who have finished one. Before the race, the runners are told of the direction of the race, the course that is predetermined by the officials. They can make a plan of attack. Life is also a predetermined course, laid our by our loving Heavenly Father. However, we don't have any prior knowledge of the twists or turns and can only "...look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith..." The race has been so very hard these last few weeks, but I have whole cloud of witnesses that are cheering me on. It has refreshed my soul and was such a beautiful word from God to me this weekend.

Keep your eyes upon Jesus. As long as some days are, it won't be forever. I want my husband to healed but know it won't be this side of heaven. There are days that are difficult. There are good days too. I will be praying for you all.

With love and admiration of those who care for a spouse,
    Rebecca

Beautiful, Rebecca ~ thank you for sharing! Thank you for praying!

I am praying for all of you, too!

Grief is both a painful necessity and a privilege, for it comes as a result of having loved.
