Thread: Storage for moveable letters?

    Default Storage for moveable letters?

I made some of the milkcap letters from Confessions of a Homeschooler...actually I used wooden disks, it would have taken me forever to save enough milk lids. I think the disks are just about 1 1/2 inches.

Anyway, does anyone have an easy way to sort/store these. I have a double set comingled in a bin and it is a real pain to find the letters we want/need. Meaning I am doing the searching while the children sit looking at me.

Thanks for any ideas. Doesn't need to be fancy, just to hold up. I am thinking the baby will use them when she is ready as well.

    Christi,
For small pieces, flash card sets, matching games, etc...I use mayo and peanut butter jars! I started saving them and I wash them thoroughly, then label them. They fit on bookshelves and I don't have to look everywhere for the little things that are so often dumped and forgotten.

Maybe you could try that. I love that they are clear and I can check at a glance for something.

Christi, I would look at http://www.joann.com/storage/ and see if anything looks like it would work. I have a variety of storage containers for crafts. What about zip-locs with the plastic zipper?

I don't know what you mean by moveable letters, but I was going to suggest wipes containers. I like that they can usually stack on top of each other on a shelf. Or if you're wanting each letter or two to have its own space, what about a tackle box?

I thought about it, and thought, they're a lot like pogs (those milk cap games that were all the rage many years ago!). So I looked up pog storage and found this. If you scroll down, there's some d-i-y holders. The skinny box sounds like the best idea for letters.

Thanks! My husband had mentioned pogs. I think that box would be great. I can use index cards cut down to make tabs.

I want to have the letters sorted alphabetically, a tackle box might work too, I'll have to check out Joanns too.
