    Default Feeding teenage boys???

13yo ds surely has quite an appetite and is always wanting a "good lunch" and something to snack on during the day. PB&J doesn't cut it anymore

What are some must haves in the house with teenage boy appetites?

Leftovers. Milk. Thomas still loves PB&J. Plenty of cereal. Tortillas and cheese. Cheese sticks.

All the above. My son loves hotdogs, so we buy the Ballpark angus hotdogs for him. They are a bit expensive, but he "snacks" on them. Lunch meat and rolls are another constant item he consumes. He also eats frozen pizzas. I can't keep enough milk and meat in our house.

My guys are tall and skinny, skinny skinny, so I do not ration the amount at all, but will suggest healthy alternatives to cereals and chips.

    As much as they want.

Like RJ, mine are all slim and active so eating is good.

Agreeing with the others on lots of protein and carbs. We also keep lots of fresh fruit around. Smoothies, nachos and ice cream are also hits in addition to the other things mentioned. I think leftovers is the biggest hit around here!

yeah thankfully my 13yo ds is slim and tall too. Pretty active as well. We always joke around after he eats and eats and eats...... his stomach is still flat as can be and we wonder where it all goes

oh and he's into this thing about mixing all sorts of stuff together and experimenting with different combos

My two are 12 but they eat ALOT. Hot dog, frozen burritos, ramen noodles, soft tortillas with lunch meat wrapped in them, they scramble a lot of eggs, bananas by the boatload and more cereal than I ever could imagine!

My 14 year old said the other day of a bag of chips, " You do realize that "Family Size" only means they are not gone in 2 hours."

Ham, roast beef, turkey or pastrami sandwiches or subs with cheese and loaded with veggies is a typical lunch.

Loaded burritos with left over chicken or beef, with beans and cheese.

    pizzas (yep, always a hit)

Nuts. I buy a variety of different kinds, including almonds, peanuts, walnuts, and add raisins and cranberries to make our own trail mixes.

Lots of washed fruit on hand to grab. Right now I have grapes, strawberries, apricots, apples, grapefruit and bananas.

We don't drink a lot of milk here.

I try to give my boys a good hearty breakfast each morning. Lots of eggs and some kind of meat bagels and fruit. Or oatmeal with lots of nuts and fruit.

eta, I let him eat as much as he wants to with common sense when it comes to snacks and treats.
