    Default Oreo Recipe Needed

My former Pastor's wife use to make a dessert with crushed up Oreos and Coolwhip. She would just put it in a bowl. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I am wondering if it was just crushed up Oreos and Coolwhip? That sounds to simple and it seems like there should be more to it. I have been looking on the Internet for the recipe but I am running out of time and haven't found anything yet. Any ideas? Thanks! Oh, they usually have it at a Buffett restaurant, if that helps.

I am willing to bet there is also cream cheese added in.

I made a Butterfinger pie that sounds very similar. I'd just substitute Oreo for the Butterfinger and see if that's what she made!

Oooooh, I make an Oreo Ice Cream dessert that uses Cool Whip (of course, you would have known if it were ice cream ).

You take 1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream and let it soften slightly. Put it in a mixing bowl.
Add 1 container of Cool Whip (12 oz)
Crush (I break into thirds) the Oreos and add them to the ice cream and mix it.

Pour into a 13x9 and refreeze. Pull out a few minutes before serving to soften. This is always a huge hit

THe day after reading your post I just happened to run into this recipe in a cookbook from my sister's church.

    Oreo Cookie Salad

2 sm pkgs instant vanilla pudding
    3 c. milk
    8 oz cream cheese
    1 cup [powdered sugar
    1/4 cup butter softened
    12 oz cool whip
    1 pkg oreo cookies, crushed

Mix together pudding and milk, chill. Whip together cheese, powdered sugar, and butter. Mix both mixtures together. Add cool whip and 3/4 cup of crushed Oreos. Sprinkle remaining Oreos on top.
