    hmmmm...

I know I probably did put my body in a starvation mode last year, as I was averaging 800-900 calories. It was a really rough year for me, and I just couldn't eat. I also got very sick last fall and ended up in the hospital for a week. So, I'm trying to improve my caloric intake.

I thought 1200 was on the high side. What is a reasonable amount? I could lose 35 pounds and be back to my before-kids weight, but I would be happy with 25, but at this point I'll take anything!

    I'm 5'2" and weigh 146.

How could you lose 35 pounds? You'd be the size of a small 12 year old.

1200 is definitely NOT high. I'd say for losing weight (which you REALLY don't have much to lose), 1200-1500 is good. 1500 only if you work out that day. When you are 5'2", I know from experience, your calorie needs are not as high as someone taller or with a larger frame, so 1200 IS doable. NEVER NEVER NEVER under that though or you will do more damage than good.
