My 6yo's comments
My 6yo DS and I recently started FIAR together.
Our first book was "The Story Of Ping" and when I asked him if he knew which country the story takes place in, he immediately said "China, because of the buildings!" Wow!
The next week we rowed "Madeline" and when we talked about Paris, he said "that's the city of love"
Next was "A Pair of Red Clogs" and when I mentioned Japan, he told me that's where samurai wrestlers are from.
I wonder what he's going to surprise me with next. He's the youngest of five and obviously picks up a LOT from his older siblings and the world around him in general

FIAR is such a natural way for them to learn.
