    Talking Reintroduction :o)

I posted this over on the "FIAR Graduates" board, but I know a lot of you might not be up to that stage yet, so I thought I would post it here, too.

We've used FIAR starting with B4FIAR when our dd was only 2yo (back in 1999), then all the FIAR volumes and Beyond in 7th grade (age 12).

Dh and I have been married 18 years, and we only have our one 14-1/2yog. We started our journey with B4FIAR when she was just 2yo (best homeschool experiences ever!), and completed all of B4FIAR and FIAR volumes 1-3, about 1/2 of the volume 4 titles, the Bible supplement, and the FIAR Cookbook. We also completed BYFIAR volume 1 (and have 2 and 3 still begging to be done!), and have also enjoyed using FIAR Holiday and the FIAR nature study (Winter). I still want to get the other nature studies, starting with Summer now!

Our current curriculum we are using for high school is only scheduled 4 days a week, with the 5th day to be used for anything extra, like co-ops, community service, electives, etc. SO, I was seriously considering and praying about continuing with BYFIAR volumes 2 and 3, and/or eventually "Above and Beyond FIAR" on our Fridays/open day each week.
Then, after much prayer and consideration, I felt the Lord leading me to use "Above and Beyond", savored over several months as a supplement to our other curriculum (as Becky described it can be used in her introduction). SO, I just ordered it yesterday, and I'm almost as excited as when I first ordered B4FIAR many years ago!!

Has anyone done anything similar to this, using FIAR as a supplement for older kids who are using grade-appropriate other curriculum? I would love to hear your experiences!

Anyway, that's my (too long, sorry) reintroduction. I recognize a lot of names and faces, and I hope some of you may remember me, too.

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.
