Thread: Just finished a round of hcg...

Smile Just finished a round of hcg...

I had huge doubts and reservations about doing hcg, but I spent a bit of time talking with my doctor and she helped me feel better about things.

With diabetes, heart disease, and high BP in the family and in my own health history......I felt a desperate need to do something about my weight.

SO....I did it and I lost 23 pounds! According to the body composition test, though, I lost more fat and gained a good bit of muscle, so my body looks like it lost a lot more!

I am in maintainence now and feel great. I am continuing to exercise, just stepping it up now that I am off the diet.

I've been tested for thyroid disorder and tested to see if my hormone replacement therapy is correct or not and I am awaiting those results. We shall see!

    Just wanted to share!!

    40 days, RJ.

Short, short time and I truly hope this can be maintained. My doctor assures me it can. I am good at following a strict diet and eat well normally. I've had very little success at regular diets since going thru menopause and this was really a last ditch effort.

It is SO disheartening to follow a strict diet and exercise routine and lose no weight in six months. So, my doctor did a ton of testing and I've gotten about 75% of the results and discovered some 'hidden' issues that were keeping me from losing weight. We are waiting on other tests. Slowly i am taking steps to correct these.

Anyway, I'm happy about the weight loss, but worried about the maintainence.

Did you follow the standard protocol of 500 calories a day or was it different because it was tailored to you?

    What does maintenance look like?

I am excited for you and would love to hear more about your journey.

Way to go! I found the maintenance was very easy for me - until I had to go to work and completely started stress eating. I put 15 pounds back on. I had kept it off without any real work (I did exercise) for about 2 years. So, my experience was that maintenance was easy.

Most of us would like to see the poor get more. It comes as a shock to realize this will require that we take less.

not to hijack the thread, but where do I go to find a doctor to work with me?
Do I need a doc to work with me?
    Pills or shots?
Where do you get the diet plan from? In other words, how do I get started?

Good for you and may the benefits continue!
