Hi All

I think it's done (or rather, I think my kids would like me to stop spending 2+ hours on Amazon.com a day). So here it is. I had a few specifics in mind when I did this up. One was that I wanted it to be mainly accessible/inexpensive books - there are a few OOPs that are noted, but mostly it is of novels that exist in paperbook ($4-5 range). I just figured we had enough OOP scrambling going around already. However, if you start using this list 2 years from now, who knows what will still be in print. Secondly, I wanted to have a good list. This means that I couldn't preview every book on it. I checked every book out on Amazon, read all the reviews, but that was the best I could do. Before reading them, especially to younger children, please check them out yourselves, some had themes that would not be appropriate for 4-6yr olds, like some of the war time stories.

Thanks to everybody for contributing and encouraging me. If this list gives you additional ideas, feel free to send them on to me, I will check them out and post an update, Krista says she can add it to the original later. I'll try doing it in three parts so I don't jam the system.

Hallie
